In my Environmental Abstracts series (2016–2019), I drew on familiar objects from a life lived between the South Carolina’s Midlands and its coast—a fishing lure, a sleeping dog, what might be a piece of horse tack. These elements emerge like fragments of a dream, fleeting and evocative. Rendered in a calming color palette, the work is designed to stir memory and emotion, inviting reflection rather than offering resolution. Each piece remains intentionally open to interpretation.
